Barbadian East Coast Residents face water challenges as Water Authority seek to redress Old Mains constantly leaking

The Barbados Water Authority is informing the public as of Thursday, October 7th that repairs are being carried out on a 10-inch burst main in Willow Hill near Newcastle in St. John this has resulted in water outages to residents of Glenburnie, Foster Hall, Bathsheba, East Coast Road, St. Elizabeth Village, Belleplaine, Walkers, Chalky Mount, Shorey Village and surrounding areas.

BWA crews are also conducting repairs on burst mains in:
• St. Catherine’s, St. Philip.
• St. Simon’s, St. Andrew and
• Mount Wilton, St. Thomas.
These bursts are all on 4-inch mains and are affecting customers in the immediate surrounding areas only.

The Authority has dispatched water tankers to assist customers in the affected districts. The BWA apologises for the inconvenience caused.
