Victor Mooney continues last leg of transatlantic row from Miami

US Rower, Victor Mooney of New York ocean rowboat arrived in Miami for emergency repair aboard a cargo ship late Monday. Spencer Boat Company is providing pro bono service so the vessel can be relaunched at the Miami International Boat Show. Afterwards, Mooney will continue his row back to New York.

Mooney was robbed off the coast Haiti, after successfully rowing across the Atlantic Ocean in honor of his brother who died of AIDS and to encourage voluntary HIV testing. Mooney departed from Las Palmas, Gran Canaria and made stops in St. Martin, British Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic.
