The Embassy of Antigua and Barbuda informs all nationals that, following the proclamation issued by U.S. President Donald J. Trump titled “Restricting and Limiting the Entry of Foreign Nationals to Protect the Security of the United States”, significant changes will affect travel to the United States.

Effective January 1, 2026, the entry of Antigua and Barbuda nationals as immigrants and as non-immigrants on B-1, B-2, F, M, and J visas will be suspended.

Ambassador Sir Ronald Sanders stated: “The Government of Antigua and Barbuda is deeply concerned about the impact of this proclamation on our citizens. We are actively engaging with U.S. authorities to seek clarification and to ensure that the interests of our nationals are protected. I have begun discussions with the U.S. State Department for clarity on all aspects of this matter, including the position of persons with visas issued before December 31, 2025.  Our general objective is to engage fully with the U.S. Government to discuss the concern expressed about the basis for the visa restrictions, namely thatAntigua and Barbuda has historically had Citizenship by Investment without residency’. Our efforts are directed at reaching understandings with the U.S. Government that would allow the restoration of visas to Antigua and Barbuda nationals”.

The Embassy will provide further information as discussions proceed with the U.S. authorities.
