  • The National Council on Substance Abuse (NCSA) being the authority in Barbados for drug demand reduction supports any effort to protect the citizens of Barbados.  The NCSA recently chaired a committee led by Caricom which focused on aligning the regional response to use, advertisement and handling of all tobacco products by minors.

    Saint Lucia’s health ministry wins World No-Tobacco Day Award from the World Health Organization

  • In Barbados, the percentage of traditional cigarette smokers is very low. However, we have noted an increase in persons who are showing interest in vaping and using Fanta. Some of the vaping juice contains nicotine and Fanta is wild tobacco. Sadly, our youth is increasingly being exposed to such harmful chemicals in the homes and the community.
