Last Saturday Windward Cricket Club’s Intermediate team continued their first innings against The Alexandra School. Carrying on from last week’s 78/3, Sean Thornton and Ryan Wiggins made a terrific stand, with Thornton making 50 and Wiggins getting 175 not out, his second century of the season, with ten 4’s and sixteen 6’s, allowing the St. Philip team to declare at tea with a score of 328/5.

The Alexandra School then added a further 128/3 to last weeks 158 with Malik Young scoring 51 and R. Husbands 35, while Windward bowling attack was led by Shae Branch, who took 2 wickets for 14 runs, when the umpires called an end to the days play due to fading light. The match ends on Saturday 26th.

Meanwhile at the MappWest ground in Dash Valley, St. George, Windward’s Second Division team went into bat first and knocked up 133/6 in 32 overs, with David Sealy making 58 and Tony Edgehill 25.

MappWest then took to the pitch and made 159/4 in 28 overs with WCC bowlers Dindial Ramrattan taking 2/19, Richard Cox 1/39 and Andre Archer 1/32, when umpires ended the innings due to poor light. The match ends next Saturday with MappWest finishing the remaining 4 overs of their innings, before Windward takes to the pitch.
