As part of its intense cooperation agenda in the Caribbean, the government of Argentina signed a bilateral agreement with Dominica with the goal of promoting the practice, organization and management of sports in both countries.
According to Dominica Foreign Minister Baron “The agreement will be instrumental to encourage the exchange of athletes, coaches and teams, and their participation in training sessions for our youth”. The treaty also stipulates the reciprocal visits of experts and specialists in various areas of Science Applied to Sports.
Pandiani added “As the new Ambassador of Argentina to Dominica, I’m very enthusiastic on the mutual opportunities created by this initiative for our communities. While we offer Argentina’s expertise in football, we hope to get the best of Dominica’s experience in cricket“.
The agreement is a new chapter of the substantive alliance between the South-American country and the Caribbean region, which already accounts for sports cooperation agreements with Barbados and St. Kitts & Nevis; the visit to Buenos Aires of Barbados U17 National team last December; and the signing of Memoranda of Understanding between the Argentine Football Association (AFA) and the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) in February this year.
