HALLS VILLAGE MAN HELD AND CHARGED FOR OVER 30 KILOS OF CANNABIS
The Drug Squad arrested and formally charged 47 year old Jerry Nathaniel Haynes, from Halls Village # 1 St James for a number of drug related offences which occurred on Wednesday the 28th of August 2019.
These charges related to Possession, Possession with intent to supply, Trafficking and the Cultivation of Cannabis.
Circumstances
Police executed a search warrant at the residence of the accused where they discovered two hundred and forty-three (243) plants raging in height between 1 foot and six feet tall suspected to be of the genus cannabis, a controlled drug under cultivation in addition loose quantities of cannabis were also found. The total weight of the cannabis found is 32.9 kilograms with an estimated street value of one hundred and thirty one thousand, six hundred dollars ($131,600.00) Barbados Currency.
He appeared at the Holetown Magistrates Court on Monday September 2nd 2019 before Magistrate Wanda Blair where he pleaded guilty to all the offences.
Haynes was sentenced to two (2) years in prison on the trafficking charge and was convicted reprimanded and discharged on the possession of cannabis, possession with intent to supply and cultivation charges.
