GCG Ground has now added another country to its growing list of operating territories with the acquisition of GAS Group Aviation Services S.A. (GAS GROUP) in Costa Rica. The recent acquisition has expanded GCG’s Ground Handling business to Central America and GCG Ground, a division of Goddard Enterprises Ltd (GEL) now operates at six airports in the Caribbean and Latin America.
The 217 employees of the GAS GROUP are not expected to be adversely impacted by the acquisition of the company by GCG Ground.
GAS GROUP provides a full suite of ground handling services to both narrow and wide body aircraft at Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) and Daniel Oduber International Airport (LIR) in Costa Rica and presently services several of the leading airlines that land at these airports including British Airways, Copa Airlines Delta Airlines, Edelweiss, Iberia and Lufthansa.

In welcoming the new employees to the group, Managing Director of Goddard Enterprises Ltd Anthony Ali stated “We welcome the IATA certified team at GAS GROUP to the Goddard Group through GCG Ground. We know that their expertise will strengthen our presence in ground handling and we look forward to working closely with the entire team there.”
President GCG Group Stewart Massiah noted “We are happy to expand our operations further into Costa Rica with the addition of the GAS GROUP. I look forward to working with the team and as they join our expanding group in the Caribbean, Central and Latin America. GCG Ground Handling Division Manager Bruno Barrientos commented “We are extremely excited about this new operation in both San Jose and Liberia International Airports. This is a great step toward GCG Ground’s regional growth strategy and introduces GCG to an extremely elite group of airlines that serve both international airports in Costa Rica. The local team is very motivated and highly trained having one of the highest operating standards with the ISAGO certification and a robust Safety Management System (SMS) in place.”

GAS GROUP has been providing ground handling services in Costa Rica since 2016.
