PwC provides biggest donation to Barbados Vagrants and Homeless Society
Stephen Jardine, partner of PwC East Caribbean met with Kemar Saffrey, president and project manager of The Barbados Vagrants and Homeless Society. PwC handed over a cheque for $25,000 which will go along way towards the charity completing the new shelter ready for it’s launch in October. The donation will also help provide training and life skills programmes to the eighty women, children and men that the shelter will accommodate.

Mr. Saffrey said, “We are so grateful to PwC for making this donation. $25,000.00 is our biggest donation to-date and it really will help move the project forward. The funds will go towards the preparation of the building as we still have building work to complete, furniture and equipment to purchase as well as ongoing overheads. While we have had some good support so far, there is still a long way to go, PwC’s donation will definitely help and I want to say thank you on behalf of the charity.”
Mr. Jardine also commented, “I would encourage businesses across Barbados to get involved any way they can. No donation is too small to a charity committed to doing so much for the unfortunate in our community. And not just monetary, Kemar told me about other companies that have provided equipment and materials in-kind, this is just as important to a project on this scale. We do what we can as a Firm because we believe that building a sustainable and thriving community is essential for everyone.”
