The Paralympic Association of Barbados needs the help of both everyday and corporate Barbadians to see they can successfully travel and compete with the best possible gear for the Lima Championships later this month which are qualifiers for the 32nd Olympiad of Tokyo next year…

Sean Cook, the Public Relations Officer for the PAB also chatted with the Bajan Reporter for the exclusive interview while they were on a fundraising drive outside of iMart over the weekend.

It becomes a two pronged effort to not only gain acceptance but to appeal for donations towards the correct gear for them to compete on an even basis with other countries who ensure their ambassadors have the best to train with, since titanium wheels which are durable yet lightweight can be as much as $5,000.00 each!
Both Gilkes and Cook told BajanReporter.com in the exclusive interview while fundraisers at Sheraton have created an interest, nevertheless time is limited to raise the necessary fees for the flight alone.
Vice President Gilkes in speaking to BajanReporter.com, observed no other media has made an approach like how this website did, he also expressed a wish list of what can be done financially before the trip to Lima starts – he says he’d be happy for at least $10,000.00 in airfare for Peru and $20,000.00 towards expenses for Tokyo next year…
