The Barbados Drug Squad arrested and formally charged, 42 year old Bryan Pollack from Paramaribo, in relation to Possession, Trafficking, Possession with intent to supply and Importation of Cocaine in a drug haul worth close to 20-Thousand Barbados…

On Saturday the 29th of June 2019, Pollack arrived at the Grantley Adams International Airport on-board a flight from Trinidad and Tobago. He cleared Immigration but was intercepted by police who had reason to interview him. As a result of this interview, he was taken to Customs where a search of his luggage was conducted.

This search revealed six (6) packages of a white substance wrapped in transparent plastic concealed in the handle of a suitcase belonging to Pollack. As a result of this discovery he was arrested and taken into the custody of the police and subsequently charged for the mentioned offences.

On Monday July 1st 2019, he appeared at the District ‘C’ Court before Chief Magistrate Christopher Birch where he pleaded guilty to all four charges. He was sentenced as follows:

1. On the charge of Possession of Cocaine he was convicted reprimanded and discharged

2. On the charge of Trafficking Cocaine he was fined $5000.00 forthwith or 18 months in prison.

3. On the charge of Possession with intent to supply Cocaine he was reprimanded and discharged.

4. On the offence of Importation of Cocaine he was fined $10,000.00 forthwith or 18 months in prison.

The fines were not paid and he was handed over into the custody of personnel from HMP Dodds.

The weight of the suspected cocaine is 364 grammes with an estimated street value of $18,200.00 Barbados Currency.
