BRFU Pirates 018

The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) wishes to advise customers in the St. Michael, St. James and St. Thomas areas who were affected by water outages over the past few days, that another issue has surfaced at the Ionics Freshwater Desalination Plant today Monday, July 1st which again unfortunately resulted in the plant having to be taken offline.

Work to correct the issue has begun, however, it will take some time for repairs to be effected and pumping to resume.

The Authority is therefore informing customers that the water outages may continue. Persons who have water at present, are advised to store some to assist them should an outage occur.

Water tankers will continue to assist residents in the affected areas as a temporary measure. Please note that there may be delays due to heavy demand.

The districts affected may include: In St. Thomas

Cane Garden, Arthur Seat, Welches Heights, Bagatelle Park, Bagatelle Gardens, Melrose, Redman’s Village, Edgehill, Welches Terrace, Padmore Village and the surrounding areas.

In St. James

In St. Michael

St. Stephen’s, Grazettes, Cave Hill, University Drive, Wanstead and surrounding areas.

The Barbados Water Authority apologises for the inconvenience caused to its valued customers.
