STYROFOAM CONTAINERS POSSESS UNSEEN DANGERS FOR BARBADIAN CONSUMERS

A local environmental consultant warns a persistence in using polystyrene or styrofoam containers can lead to dangerous side effects.

This urgent cry of caution from Mark Hill, the CEO of Think Design, who engineered the successful redesign of Star Chick for HACCP verified poultry packaging, was part of the panellists attending last week’s Town Hall meeting at the Graydon Sealy Secondary on Paddock Road in Dalkeith, St Michael.

He explained if a consumer uses a container and places it straight into the microwave or what happens when a fried fish vendor drops a hot piece of product straight into the styrofoam container and what hazards emerge from this dangerous practice – which means when vendors use ecologically sound bio-ware they’re actually looking to make their customers are around for longer; –

The Town Hall meeting was well attended and included vendors and users of food containers from many avenues of entrepreneurship. The next session is set for tomorrow Wednesday the 24th at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre on Two Mile Hill…
