CYEN and NO GRAVITY

A group of passionate civil society champions for organic farming, have come together to improve the development of this niche through new methodologies. After months of planning, the Caribbean Youth Environment Network and the European Union-based Youth Organic Farmer’s Club and Y-Farmers finally met at CYEN’s office recently.

The Y-Farmer Project is an Organic Farmer learning exchange programme which aims to explore avenues for non formal learning and training in the field of organic farming that will lead to improved youth work, their access to the labor market, and better self identification in society.

The Y-Farmer delegation is visiting Barbados from January 2nd – 21st with the intention to have training sessions on a local farm.

The training will illustrate the principles of organic farming using a manual they have designed and tested in Nepal, Costa Rica. CYEN is the partner organisation facilitating the final segment in Barbados.
