Trustee Pippa Challis said the project was actually 8 years in the making and the main setback was a previous commitment to perform orthopedic surgeries for other children, and in returning her focus to the centre she understood the location of the centre may not be ideal, but it was better than the alternative; –
Ms Challis noted while the Trust may not possess the medical background to design such a facility, what they do have is an ability to provide a difference in approaches to treatment; –
The Thrive Family Centre will start to receive patients in January.
