BRA Hosts TAMIS Training Sessions for Secondary School Administrators
The Barbados Revenue Authority facilitated more than 50 administrators responsible for payroll at 22 educational institutions in a series of training sessions on the new Tax Administration Management Information System (TAMIS) during the last week of September.
As part of the interactive sessions held at the Baobab Tower in Warrens, participants were taken through the registration process and introduced to the system’s functionality.
The BRA’s manager communication and PR, Carolyn Williams-Gayle indicated that the series is part of the Authority’s outreach and compliance strategy.
“These sessions form part of the Authority’s ongoing efforts to engage key stakeholders targeted in the phase one implementation of TAMIS in transitioning to the new system. The Authority will continue to target specific groups to participate in the sessions during October,” she said.
“The TAMIS system is being introduced in two phases with Phase one focusing on businesses and other agencies. The second phase which will be ready for implementation very shortly, focuses on individuals and all taxpayers will be required to transition to the new system for filing next year. More information on Phase two will be made available in October.”
