BARBADIAN APPOINTED PEACE AMBASSADOR AND INTERNATIONAL GOVERNOR

ORDAINED minister with the Pentecostal Assemblies of the West Indies (PAWI) and gospel recording artiste, Reverend Ferdinand Nicholls has been appointed peace ambassador and international governor in Barbados by the Academy of Universal Global Peace of the United States of America (AUGPUSA).

His appointment took effect from August 1, 2018, and follows the conferring of an honorary Doctorate of Theology and an award of human excellence for Global Peace by the AUGPUSA.

Nicholls, who now carries the title His Excellence Dr. Ferdinand Nicholls, will represent AUGPUSA in matters such as human rights, provide humanitarian assistance, assist governments in accomplishing their sustainable developmental goals, and provide leadership training in areas such as entrepreneurship and conflict resolution.

With his appointment, Barbados becomes the 78th nation and the second Caribbean country to have an AUGPUSA representative, which seeks to transform global citizens into faithful messengers of God’s peace and love. The AUGPUSA is an affiliate of the United Nations University of Global Peace, Diplomatic Mission Peace and Prosperity, the United Nations Global Development Organization and the American Diplomatic Mission of International Relations.

Dr Nicholls, who is the founder and senior pastor of The House of Freedom Ministry, is also overseer of the House of Freedom Ministry in Tanzania, Africa, which includes over 40 assemblies and more than 70 pastoral leaders. He has worked extensively with churches locally and regionally including the Assemblies of God in the Cayman Islands since the aftermath of hurricane Ivan. He is the founder and president of JFJ International Ministries, a registered charity, founder and chairman of the Board of Directors of Nicholls Caribbean Limited. He is also a motivational speaker and freelance radio commentator, and was host of the “Breakthrough” radio program.

With over 40 years of Christian ministry and administrative management, the former Harrison College graduate, who attended the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus and the West Indies School of Theology, stressed that he was keen to work with governments, humanitarian organizations and foundations, as he seeks to fulfill to the AUGPUSA’s mandate.
