Isaac weakened slightly but it’s still expected to be at or near hurricane strength when it approaches the Lesser Antilles later this week…
Now Tropical Storm ‘Isaac‘ at 11:00 p.m:- Location near 14.5’N 46.9’W or about 850 miles east of Barbados.

Maximum sustained winds near 70 mph. Tropical Storm force winds extend outward 45 miles from the center. Movement was westward at 16 mph.

On this track, the center of Isaac is expected to pass about 150 miles (240 km) north of Barbados early on Thursday.

However, an outer band associated with Isaac will bring some scattered showers, isolated thunderstorms and occasional gusty winds to Barbados on Wednesday

As the system travels westward into the eastern Caribbean Sea, more organized convection trailing Isaac is expected to affect Barbados, bringing moderate to heavy showers and occasional gusty winds well into Friday.

Sea conditions are also forecast to deteriorate as the system traverses the area with swells of 3.0 to 3.5m (10 to 11 ft) expected over open water.

The BMS will continue to closely monitor the progress of Hurricane Isaac and will update this information at 5:00 ayem Tuesday morning.
