The Heart & Stroke Foundation of Barbados in association with the Healthy Caribbean Coalition and the Breastfeeding & Child Nutrition Foundation of Barbados will be hosting a public lecture exploring the issue of childhood obesity on 14 August, 6:30 pm at 3 W’s Pavilion, UWI, Cave Hill.
Children with obesity are at higher risk of developing other chronic health conditions and diseases including asthma, sleep apnea, type 2 diabetes and risk factors for heart disease.
Speakers include Prof Anne St. John, Consultant Paediatrician; Dr. Alison Bernard, President, Breastfeeding & Child Nutrition Foundation and Ms. Abigail Clarke, Registered Dietitian.
