Solutions Barbados Candidate for St. Joseph Organises Major Constituency Cleanup Day Campaign

WHAT: Solutions Barbados will be removing abandoned, dilapidated old cars; abandoned appliances and other house hold municipal solid waste left over a year within active tourism belts and surrounding communities.

WHO: St. Joseph Candidate, Jennifer Highland, along with a other members of Solutions Barbados, will start the clean-up process beginning from the top of Cleavers Hill and moving on to surrounding communities. Highland voiced her concerns over the issue of indiscriminate dumping of municipal solid waste and the negative impact it can have on the environment and the image of St. Joseph, noting that “the image of unsightly garbage lying around sends the wrong message to our visitors who frequent these active tourism belts.”

She linked the unreliability of garbage collection to the problem of indiscriminate dumping and noted that the effort was planned several weeks ago to take action to address this matter, as such the Clean-Up Day Campaign was organised as a result.

WHERE: It started at Cleavers Hill, St. Joseph
