LIFE COACH URGES YOUNG HOME OWNERS TO UNDERSTAND NUMBERS AND SO CONTROL THEIR LIVES BETTER

Understanding wants versus needs is one of the earliest and most powerful steps towards controlling financial goals.

Ian Blanchard was the main guest to speak to potential mortgage owners at Courtyard Marriott in Hastings last night, Scotiabank enlisted his advice as part of ensuring all clients who want their own home understand the benefits and risks involved.

A firm believer in record keeping, Mr Blanchard told the packed convention room by knowing your goals in terms of month-end, year-end or the next ten years gives you a better grasp of how to marshal your resources however large or small;-

The life coach also quoted from the book “Richest Man In Babylon” and reminded the large audience how putting aside ten per cent of your wages for yourself and not touching it unless it is a dire emergency allows to you gain the upper hand for all money matters.

He also noted by not just saving but to observe where your money goes – down to the last penny – prevents you from making unnecessary choices;-

Mr Blanchard assured participants if most of the methods suggested are used then acquiring their own home is not so difficult. Scotiabank management hinted this is the first of many financial literacy seminars for Barbadians set for 2018.
