April signifies the beginning of the 2018-2019 fiscal year for the Government of Barbados and now there’s a call for all Barbadians in the Civil Service to make sure any expenditures made in this period are following all legitimate protocols now there is no official Opposition to call it to account.
Political leader of the BLP and Opposition Leader made this dire warning during the launch of the constituency office of St Michael South hopeful Kirk Humphrey at Culloden Road recently.
She said now that Parliament dissolved without the Governor General serving an elections writ and Dame Sandra Mason herself is out of the island, Ms Mottley urged for a careful watch by public sector staff on how and where the Government’s purse is used in the absence of an official Opposition;-
still gave her supporters a ray of hope, in reminding them there is a timeline for elections which cannot be avoided;-
The House of Assembly dissolved since March 6th; Government now has less than 90 days to declare a nomination day as well as the day for a fresh poll to choose a new mandate for Barbados.
