VINCENTIAN ARRESTED AT PORT FOR ALMOST $60-THOUSAND IN ILLEGAL NARCOTICS

On Friday 23rd March 2018, The Drug Squad arrested and formally charged 23 year old Kamol Wendel Muckett, a Vincentian from Union Vale, Port Elizabeth, St. Vincent for the following offences which he committed on the 2018-03-22 while at the Shallow Draught, Bridgetown Port, Saint Michael.

1. Possession of Cannabis
2. Trafficking in Cannabis
3. Possession with Intent to Supply Cannabis
4. Importation of Cannabis
5. Possession of Cocaine
6. Trafficking in Cocaine
7. Possession with Intent to Supply Cocaine
8. Importation of Cocaine

Circumstances:

He arrived in Barbados about 06:15 am on board the motor vessel “Melinda 2” which was berthed at the Shallow Draught. A search of this vessel was conducted by personnel from the Drug Squad, Customs and Coast Guard.

The weight of the suspected Cocaine is 0.97 kgs with an estimated street value of Forty eight thousand, five hundred dollars ($48,500.00) Barbados currency and the weight of the suspected Cannabis is 1.35 kgs with an estimated street value of Five thousand, four hundred dollars ($5,400.00) Barbados currency.

Two packages were found during the search, one containing suspected cannabis and the other suspected cocaine. Kamol Muckett was subsequently arrested in connection with the drugs found.
