“CyarriBeyon: Clay Pon Mahogany”

Vonni Koromanti presents an art exhibition-cum-sale at its Headquarters, Porters Place, 11 Porters, Saint James, Barbados. The exhibition runs from Thursday March 29, 2018 to Sunday April 08, 2018, 10:00 am to 9:00 pm daily, with an Opening Reception on Thursday March 29, 2018 at 6:30 pm.

Titled ‘CLAY PON MAHOGANY‘, the exhibition forms part of the running series CyarriBeyon, which highlights the shared culture of the Caribbean region and its artistic impact and influence beyond its geographical border.

This instalment features works in mahogany by Barbadian Ashanti Trotman alongside clay creations fashioned by Jamaica’s Robert Campbell. Curated by Vonni, a Stylist who specialises in décor procurement and a Creative Industries Consultant, the double mandate of CyarriBeyon is to further the objective of Caribbean art in every Caribbean home, as well as to foster creative Caribbean kinship.

Robert, a forward-thinking mixed media visionary, has taught sculpture throughout the Caribbean, and in 2014 was selected by the Caribbean Export Development Agency as one of the top eleven designers of the region. Dynamic, Ashanti has been an artist for over 30 years, and his work is included in several national collections; the most recent acquisitions are held by the Co-operative Republic of Guyana and the Republic of Chile.

Clay Pon Mahogany depicts the cultural-creative diversity of the region woven together by musical motifs. Together, this exhibition team is committed to the preservation and promotion of Caribbean Culture.
