PERMANENT SECRETARY SAYS: FEES FOR SCHOLAR PAID, WAS RUSH DUE TO IMPENDING VOTING?
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education; June Chandler, has confirmed that tuition fees for Barbados Scholar, Hailey Laurayne, have been paid.
She said investigations conducted by the Ministry into the circumstances surrounding non-payment of fees on behalf of Ms. Laurayne have revealed that the University of Southampton, where Ms. Laurayne is currently a student, has received payment.
Ms. Chandler said the Ministry regretted the unfortunate circumstances that led to the late payment. Parliament of Barbados dissolves by Monday 5th March 2018, paving way for new mandate from Barbadian electorate. (MR/BGIS)
