31 YEAR OLD NAIL TECHNICIAN IS ISLAND’S MOST RECENT ROAD FATALITY

Police continue to probe what led to this country’s most recent Road fatality which occurred sometime around 4:45 am on Sunday the 3rd of December 2017, along My Lords Hill, St. Michael, which resulted in the death of Amanda Danielle Byer, 31 years of Coral land, Haggatt Hall, St. Michael, and injury to Jeffrey Callender, 50 years, also of Coral land, Haggatt Hall, St. Michael.

Circumstances

Preliminary investigations revealed that around 4:45 am Byer was driving the motor car along My Lords Hill Road, accompanied by Callender. On approaching the area of the Israel Lovell Foundation, the motor car struck an embankment which resulted in Byer losing control and subsequently colliding with a guard wall to the front of the Israel Lovell Foundation.

Byer received head injuries and died at the scene, while Callender received an injury to his forehead, and was transported to the QEH by ambulance for medical attention.

One (1) Fire Tender, and four (4) Fire Officers under the command of Station Officer Denton Foster, and Acting Deputy Fire Officer Errol Gaskin responded to the scene of the accident.

Police are also making an appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this accident or can provide any information to assist us in these investigations to contact the District ‘A’ Police station at telephone 430-7242, or 430-7646.
