UNNATURAL DEATH – DROWNING, RE: ALEXANDER VENEZIA
Police are conducting investigations into the circumstances surrounding the drowning of Alexander Venezia 16 years of Lion Castle, St. Thomas, which occurred sometime between 11am and 12 noon on Tuesday 5th September 2017. This incident occurred at Cattlewash Beach, St. Joseph.
Alexander Venezia had been out with friends surfing between the area of Barclays beach and Cattlewash. Sometime after 11 am he experienced difficulties and went under the water for an extended period. He was rescued by onlookers and brought to shore. Efforts were made to revive him by the performance of C.P.R over an extended period until the ambulance arrived. He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
At this time Foul Play is not suspected, but the police would await the results of an autopsy to guide investigations into the matter.
