Trident Insurance unveils new digital platform

In another first for high-tech innovation in the local general insurance industry, Trident Insurance has unveiled a new fast and convenient digital platform allowing clients to purchase personal lines insurance on-line from any web-enabled device, smart phone, tablet, or computer.

Business Development Officer Alexandra Leacock, says customers using the new system can go from application to the point of receiving their insurance documents in one seamless online process via, “without having to set foot in our office.”

Noting that Trident is always on the lookout for thoughtful solutions that fit with customers’ lifestyles, Leacock says the new system is perfect for the growing number of tech savvy Barbadians of all ages, who are managing their lives via smart devices.

We are very excited to release this platform which allows clients to purchase their personal lines insurance online. There is a growing demographic of Barbadians who are extremely tech-savvy and who use e-commerce regularly to shop online, pay bills, and do their banking, and so we thought why not facilitate the purchase of insurance online? At Trident we are always thinking ahead and trying to find new ways to better serve our clients, and we identified the need to create an easier way to buy personal lines insurance. We wanted to take a fresh and straightforward approach which makes it easy for clients, and takes the hassle and run around out of the process,” says Leacock.

Available 24/7 via mobile smartphone, tablet or computer, the entire application process can be completed in “real time” in just a few minutes by following three easy steps: first answer a few questions to get your quote, then decide on your payment plan, make your initial payment, and finally receive your cover note instantly which is acceptable by the Licensing Authority. Payments can be made by credit card, visa debit card or via SurePay Online.

Leacock says in addition to providing a system that caters to busy consumers with on-the-go lifestyles, the digital platform also enables easier access to information, and will ultimately result in real cost savings to insurance consumers.

“It was critical for us that the system be accessible to consumers across multiple devices. Clients can also retrieve their quotations for purchase at a later date. Not having to leave your home or office to complete your insurance transaction will certainly result in savings on time and travel, and allow you to get on with your busy schedule.”

Another major advantage is that once insured with Trident, clients can continue to utilize the technology to manage their policies electronically, make payments, track claims, and even renew policies online. Leacock says feedback from the first few weeks of operation has been overwhelmingly positive.
