Back from their trip “Down the Rabbit Hole“, Republic Bank’s cast of performers were in high spirits having earned second place at the regional Inter-bank Talent Spectacular biennial competition which took place over the weekend in Trinidad and Tobago.

Republic Barbados‘ presentation of Down the Rabbit Hole, a musical adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, wowed the close to 1000 strong audience with a contemporary retelling of the classic tale, where Alice embarks on a journey to find the One for Her in pursuit of her Caribbean dream.

In other stand-out performances of the night, Grenada placed first with an ensemble performance of “Bluerella“, a retelling of the Cinderella fairytale where the kingdom of Republic in its 180th year of existence needs to find a princess espousing core values to wed the kingdom’s young prince. Head Office Communications Officer Avalene Harris‘ rendition of Dionne Warwick’s I know I’ll never love this way again, earned the T&T based songstress third place.

An enthusiastic crowd braved inclement weather on a rainy Saturday evening to soak up the performances from a total of 16 acts from Trinidad, Tobago, Grenada, Guyana and Barbados, varying from traditional African dance and operatic aria, to jazz, R&B, calypso, spoken word, and musical theatre.
