U.S. Embassy Bridgetown has donated USD$30,000 worth of firing range equipment to the Regional Police Training Center (RPTC) and the Barbados Defence Force (BDF).

The equipment included various targeting platforms, eye and ear protection, and holsters. It will be used at both the RPTC and the BDF for training of new recruits and in-service training for more veteran personnel.

The donation was made through the Embassy’s Office of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), and its Regional Security Office (RSO).

“We are pleased to make this donation of equipment to the police and the BDF,” said U.S. Ambassador to Barbados, the Eastern Caribbean, and the OECS Linda Taglialatela. “The United States government is committed to a safer and more secure Eastern Caribbean, and we will continue to partner with the nations of the Eastern Caribbean, and their security forces, to achieve that goal.”
