The Barbados Tourism Product Association has fully endorsed Strong Foods launch of their brand Yelluh Meat, CEO Dr Kerry Hall spoke with Bajan Reporter and says this is completely within the milieu of Cultural Immersion they wish to share with visitors, as this is a local eatery which embraces everything that is a part of this country yet seek to be a World Class service. She says she plans to make sure tourists hear of Strong Foods’ Yelluh Meat at Aberfoyle on Blackrock Main Road.

The company, created by Kim Hamblin and Dwight Forde, is continuing to pioneer the concept of roast breadfruit bowls topped with black belly lamb, pickled pigtail, corned beef, buljol or lentils for the vegan and the breadfruit itself is treated with a choice of Olive Oil, Mello Kreeme margarine, Sunflower margarine or or its low fat version

The Blackrock dining hotspot serves local fruit juice mixes like coconut water as the base for Lemonade they clearly are 100% Bajan but giving Chefette (operating right opposite their Blackrock branch) a good run for their money!

The venture, according to Kim started as a class project from the Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme which Dwight was a team member who also made sure the idea didn’t just stay in the classroom, their mentor Richie Blades was proud to see them sustain the concept from theory to a continuous working model.
I had the pickled pigtail bowl, it was my substitute for souse and boy, was I glad! It was extremely filling, did not feel hungry until sundown… I plan to go maybe this Friday night and see if there’s karaoke or what?
