Huge excitement as Flow brings FA Cup to Barbados

England’s oldest football trophy was the toast of Bridgetown recently, as Flow teamed up with reigning FA Cup champions Manchester United to host the Barbados leg of the FA Cup Tour of the Caribbean.

Last year, Flow and Manchester United signed a multi-year regional partnership that covers sponsorship and media rights for the ‘Red Devils‘ in the Caribbean. The arrival of the FA Cup in Barbados marks the second local activation of the partnership following the FA Cup final last August.

This is a historic moment and a huge win for our customers and all local football fans,” said Niall Sheehy, Managing Director, Flow Barbados.

Sheehy (far right) was part of a delegation including Randy Harris, President of the Barbados Football Association, Greg Castagne, Head Coach of the Flow-sponsored Pro Shottas Soccer Academy, along with Flow brand ambassadors Patrick ‘Salt’ Bellamy and Kevin ‘Bubbles’ Marshall who received the FA Cup from Manchester United officials at Flow’s retail store at Windsor Lodge.

Five months ago, Manchester United defeated Crystal Palace 2-1 at Wembley Stadium to lift the club’s record equalling twelfth FA Cup trophy.

Manchester United is one of the world’s most popular football clubs and they have a huge following here in Barbados, which is clearly evident by the excitement the FA Cup has generated,” said Sheehy.

Flow, through Flow Sports, has now established itself as the home of sport in the Caribbean and we are pleased to deliver this unique experience for our customers and fans of the beautiful game. We also hope these types of partnerships and events can inspire future generations to choose sport and pursue excellence for themselves.”

The tour also made stops at Flow’s retail store at Sheraton Centre and Bubba’s Sports Bar where eager fans took photos and ‘selfies‘ with the FA Cup.

With a global community of 659 million followers and a 137-year heritage, Manchester United is a leader in the development of content and applications for fans, making the club an excellent fit with Flow as the region’s leading multi-platform operator.

Flow is also the Caribbean’s exclusive broadcast partner of the English Premier League, with every single game available live and in high-definition via Flow Sports.
