The Bridgetown Hub of the Global Shapers community has officially launched a recruitment drive aimed at bringing together Barbados’ most progressive young individuals together to act as a catalyst towards social and economic change. The deadline for applications is February 5th, 2017.
“Barbados has a wealth of exceptional young people involved in a diverse range of professional activities. We have a very dynamic and vibrant Hub in Bridgetown, and we are looking for young leaders who are committed to serving their country. They will be collaborating with like-minded individuals in other cities across the Global Shapers international network of over 6000 Shapers.” These are the sentiments of the Bridgetown Hub Curator, Malou Morgan.
“Over 50 percent of the world’s population is under the age of 30. Yet they are severely underrepresented in global affairs. The solutions to our local challenges must purposefully engage youth, at all levels. This generation has the passion, dynamism and entrepreneurial spirit to shape the future of Barbados.”

A World Economic Forum initiative, the Global Shapers is a network of city-based hubs developed and led by promising young leaders who want to develop their entrepreneurial drive towards serving society. The Bridgetown Hub is one of more than 400 city-based hubs worldwide that carry out grassroots initiatives to tackle some of the most pressing problems in their communities.
Nominated under the age of 30, a network of over 6,000 Global Shapers form a multi stakeholder community and come from a variety of backgrounds including business, government, civil society, journalism, social entrepreneurship, arts and culture.
“We’re looking for the next generation of dreamers, creatives, doers, disrupters and changemakers to join the Bridgetown Hub of the Global Shapers. If you’re buzzing with the intention to make a positive difference in the world, we’d love to hear from you!“
