FAILURE IS NOT A CONCLUSION, IT IS THE NEXT STEP – SAGICOR GROUP C.E.O ADVISES AT U.W.I REBRANDING

Failure is not an end it is the next step for greatness, and money placed in education guarantees a country’s prowess in the world market.

These were a few of the powerful gems shared by Dodridge Miller, President and CEO of the Sagicor Financial Group during the rebranding of the Cave Hill School of Business to the Sagicor Cave Hill School of Business and Management.

Mr Miller says people may wonder why education is not having the results it used to have as decades before, he sees the time as ripe for the private sector to step up to the plate rather than leave it all to Government.

The Barbadian executive is also tired of how not just in Barbados but the entire region ridiculing and dismissing children or adults who either learned and failed a test or started a company and it collapsed as being less than human.

Mr Miller told participants those who travelled avenues seldom trod are braver than most of us and should be encouraged then learn from them in turn.

The Group CEO is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and obtained his MBA from the University of Wales and Manchester Business School.

He holds an LLM in Corporate and Commercial Law from the University of the West Indies and, in October 2008, he was conferred with an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree by the University of the West Indies.

He has more than 30 years’ experience in the banking, insurance and financial services industries.
