Defence Force urges Bajans to Have a Heart

The Barbados Defence Force is on a special drive to earn money for one of Barbados’ more needy charities in a Walk and Run early next month.

A five kilometer walk and run is scheduled for the 6th of August starting in the cool of day from six ayem to help raise monies for the Precious Touch Foundation and make sure more than a few Barbadians will be healthier after the valued exercise.

Precious Touch President Adoria Maxwell-Hazel expressed her gratitude at the Officer's Mess in St Ann's Fort at the Historic Garrison and urged Bajans to join in on the cause.

Welfare Officer with the BDF Harriet Clarke, told the media and participants that registration ensures not only a tee-shirt but a snack at the end of the exercise.

The welfare officer also outlined the route involved for the fundraiser, it is rather vigorous – beginning by the Clock Tower on the Garrison and ending up by ‘Weiser’s On The Bay’ on Spring Garden…
