US$50k from GEF SGP to Expand Garden Project to Secondary Schools

The Global Environment Facility (GEF) Small Grants Programme (SGP) implemented by the UNDP has funded BAPPSS with US $50K to implement the Regional Entrepreneurship and Agriculture Programme (REAP) through Youth Equipped to Achieve! (YEA!).

The funding helped to establish a partnership with the Youth Development Programme (YDP), Division of Youth in the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth which is contributing US $20K to the project. The Parties signed MOUs on May 18th to officially launch the project expansion and to formalise the partnerships.

David Bynoe, National Coordinator of the GEF SGP compared his emotions as those of a proud father watching a child graduate to secondary school. GEF SGP supported REAP Primary Schools with US$150,000 to expand to 30 Primary Schools.
