Mum in a Million, thanks to Trident Insurance

Families in Barbados can strengthen their ties by encouraging open communication with each other.

This advice comes from Karen John, the chosen ‘Mum in a Million‘ from the recently concluded Trident Insurance Mother’s Day competition. John received the grand prize of a $500 gift voucher for the Eforea Spa at Needham’s Point.

Entrants to the competition expressed their love for their mothers by uploading a photo with their mother to the Trident Insurance website (www.tridentins.com) or via their Facebook page, giving reasons why their mum should be chosen.

According to daughter Carolann, her mother’s legacy is a strong family tie resulting from the family’s habitual practice of never allowing her children to “fall-out with each other and stop speaking“.

“Lashes alone cannot work today. Parents need to instil discipline and encourage their children to value education” Karen added.

In congratulating the winning mum, Nicole Hoyte, Senior Account Executive at Trident Insurance, said that family is an important part of the Trident Insurance philosophy.

“At Trident, we treat you like family, and we’re aware of the dynamics and challenges present in family life, so we are happy for this opportunity to show appreciation to Karen, and all the other outstanding mothers.”

In her winning entry, Carolann concluded that while there are many deserving mums, hers is not just a ‘Mum in a Million’, but that she’s worth a million mums.

Hoyte said the company was overwhelmed by all of the entries received, and were also pleased to have awarded two other well-deserving mums, Lamorna Phillips and Dolores Chandler with prizes.
