Jamaal Roach is Scotiabank’s New Treasurer

Jamaal Roach is the new head of the Treasury Department for Scotiabank Caribbean East.

Since joining the company 15 years ago as a teller at the Independence Square branch, Roach has continually progressed within the Bank. He takes up his new post after holding the position of Manager, Treasury for two years. Previously, he was a part of the Corporate & Commercial Banking Team where he served as Portfolio Analyst, Account Officer and Credit Solutions Manager.

In his new position, Roach will be in charge of funding and liquidity, foreign exchange trading and the investment portfolio for the Bank's Caribbean East district which covers Barbados and eight other islands in the Eastern Caribbean.

He holds a BSc in Economics and Accounts and is a CFA charter holder.

Scotiabank’s Managing Director for Caribbean East, David Noel congratulated Roach on his appointment, stating:

“It’s a great benefit to Scotiabank to be able to have someone with Jamaal’s commitment, skill and talent to lead our Treasury team. He has built up a diverse range of experience across the Bank and I am sure he will be an asset to our Treasury department.”
