Speaking at the prize presentation and close out press conference, Managing Director & CEO, Ingrid Innes spoke about the success of the initiatives that were implemented this year to increase participation:

“An increase of 1,388 participants, or 59 per cent, is indeed a tremendous achievement. Much of this was made possible by the introduction of Corporate packages, which afforded groups of 30 or more the opportunity to have their company name or logo printed on the backs of the shirts. This cost was absorbed by ICBL as our way of giving these groups recognition for their involvement in this charitable initiative.”

Mrs. Innes indicated that 25 groups took up this offer, which was an overwhelming and unexpected response. Such was the level of interest that ICBL was forced was close off orders in order for the printers to accommodate the volume.

This is definitely an initiative that we will be expanding upon next year, with a view to giving even more groups the opportunity to have their brand represented on the road.”
