ICBL CELEBRATES 38 YEARS OF BEING THERE
The leading General Insurance provider and fastest growing Life & Health Insurance company, marked the milestone on Friday April 1st, by making a donation to the HIV/AIDS Foodbank, the first in a string of outreach activities planned for the remainder of the year in recognition of the anniversary.

President of the ICBL Social Club, Heather Walton (third from right) presented Stacia Whittaker, HIV/AIDS Foodbank Manager, with the food and toiletry items donated by staff.
Over the last few weeks, staff made contributions to an internal food and toiletry drive, which was initiated by the company’s Social Club. The drive was started in acknowledgement of “Love Safely Week”, which was observed in February by the National HIV/AIDS Commission and the Ministry of Health.
Managing Director & CEO, Mrs. Ingrid Innes, stated that giving back and being a responsible corporate citizen remain important pillars for the company:
“Our 38 year existence could not have been achieved without the support of the thousands of valued customers, staff and many partners who make up the community in which we operate. Giving back to them through various initiatives is one of the ways we are able to show our appreciation. We have already identified and will continue to identify activities which we will undertake for the remainder of the year to celebrate this milestone.”
HIV/AIDS Foodbank Manager, Stacia Whittaker, spoke to the timeliness of the donation:
“We have seen decline in the number of the donations from the public and Corporate Barbados, which we understand, given the still difficult economic environment. Donations such as these are therefore very welcomed and needed, particularly at this time of the year, given that outside of Christmas we see a much lighter influx.”

Later this month, on National Heroes Day, ICBL will be hosting its largest community outreach event, the 7th annual ICBL Family Fun Walk & Run, this year in aid of the QEH Asthma Bay, Hope Foundation and PAREDOS under the theme “Stride for Pride“.
Mrs. Innes encouraged all Barbadians to come out and take part in the event to show their support for three causes, in addition to engaging in healthy, fun activities.
