Debit Cards and Vehicles are stolen fast and furious?

If you need to get some cash, as you park your car to visit an ATM, lock it! Then hide your fingers when punching in your password – a warning has been issued by the Royal Barbados Police Force to watch out for tech-savvy skimmers from abroad looking to copy your PIN!

As if that was not enough, cops also warn of local car parts teams who try to steal vehicles to repair a similar make of damaged automobile…

Inspector Mark White (centre) was part of briefing at Police Headquarters on Roebuck Street and he revealed approximately $50,000 was skimmed from ATM's across the island from 2015 to present, he was quick to add despite these apparent dangers it is still safe to go banking as per normal just exercise caution and make sure nothing similar happens to anyone else.

Another threat addressed was the possibility cars of particular types and brands are earmarked for theft since a similar vehicle lacks a certain part.
Acting Assistant Superintendent David Welch spoke with media as well, he was quick to alert reporters these auto thefts are not just any part of Barbados but all through the country and make sure to park near streetlights and lock your vehicle even if only stopping to collect a parcel.

Despite pet theories from the public how particular areas were earmarked for theft, the fact is any place in Barbados can be a potential site for stealing a car, and vigilance needs to be maintained nonstop, according to the acting ASP (extreme right).

ASP Welch also hinted breakthroughs are forthcoming in a noted robbery and home invasion but has not given further details at this point.
