There is a call for men to do their part to live longer and help their families, and part of it is making a simple yet once costly exam easier on the Barbadian pocket.

Jan Lynton, Executive Director of Cancer Support Services says there is a drive on this Saturday for men to go and have a simple test for a nominal fee and all that’s involved is a blood sample.
Jan Lynton, Executive Director of Cancer Support Services says there is a drive on this Saturday for men to go and have a simple test for a nominal fee and all that’s involved is a blood sample.

She said how exams are all happening this Saturday 6th at “Arborside,” on Belmont Road between ten in the morning ‘til two in the afternoon.

She noted some men are reluctant to get tested for prostate cancer not because they don’t want to know if they have the illness, but rather older methods were uncomfortable – but with advances in science and medicine this makes it simpler and the fee is not even one hundred dollars.

Barbados Cancer Support services can be found on Facebook, the Non Governmental Organisation also has their own website – css.org.bb and they can be reached at 228-7081
