Country Representative for the IDB – Juan Carlos de la Hoz Vinas – was addressing the Barbadian business community at the Grand Salle recently. He was part of the launch for the Enhanced Credit Guarantee Fund which is a new vehicle of monetary access for entrepreneurs.

The fund is $35 million USD and guaranteed in part by China, the joint enterprise itself is a partnership with the Central Bank of Barbados.

Mr De La Hoz Vinas explained how the project was carefully designed not to waste resources and yet streamline any potential applications for the funding;-

De La Hoz informed the audience by speeding up the process and removing traditional barriers, enables a greater resurgence of capital via uncharted innovations to continue the boom for entrepreneurship;-

The Enhanced Credit Guarantee Fund is a partial Credit Guarantee Fund managed by the Central Bank of Barbados, to facilitate access to medium and long-term financing for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs)
