Digicel just announced despite the recent increase in the VAT on mobile services, its customers will not be out of pocket.

In December, Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs. Chris Sinckler, announced the VAT on mobile services would increase from 17.5% to 22% starting January 1, and while Digicel will be complying fully with these changes in support of the Government’s education initiative, the company will also be giving back the value of the increased tax to its customers.
