USING INTERNET TO EXPAND BARBADOS’ RETAIL SECTOR

There is a claim that video platforms can reach the Caribbean market sought by both Barbadian entrepreneurs and upscale corporate entities, who can tap into regional markets without denting their pockets.

Jeremy Stephens, President of the Barbados Economic Society, was part of a workshop for interested parties to learn about the use and construction of mobile apps. The Global Event Planner seminar was hosted at Belmont Road, Mr Stephens says TV is on its way out yet online videos are trending rapidly as Bajan viewers can watch at least five videos in a two hour period, in his view, this is a major promotional opportunity squandered;-

The guest lecturer says he is always amazed how companies here don't access video to reach their CARICOM neighbours, since the concept is still in its infancy - therefore the rates are still very reasonable.

Stephens’ view is if there is a Bajan all over the world, like the old proverb, then the home base needs to make sure those away still can be familiar with what home is doing and at a price that everyone can live with;-

Jeremy Stephens is also the CEO of a financial consultancy known as DaMoola Inc, which brokers many successful regional partnerships.
