“Directories Come Alive In The City” – Have you Recycled yet?
There was a buzz of excitement in Bridgetown when the Barbados Yellow Pages (BYP) kicked off the distribution of the 2015/2016 Telephone Directory in Heroes Square.
In addition to giving members of the public new directories and branded
yellow and black tote bags; Bridgetown shoppers had the opportunity to
see the Directory cover “come alive” as the faces of the new directory
were also present for the launch in Heroes Square.
The live Directory cover models were an unmistakable hit causing many
persons to request to have their picture taken with the trio as they did their weekend shopping.
Representatives of the Barbados Yellow Pages also used the opportunity
to explain the benefits of their recently upgraded mobile App.
Barbadians were encouraged to download the BYP mobile App, so they could have easy and fast access to finding businesses all around them, updates on local news, flight arrival and departure information, business rating and review among other cool features.
Marketing Manager at Global Directories, publishers of the Barbados
Yellow Pages, Pam Roach, who was also in Heroes Square, noted the BYP is pleased with the response from Barbadians to their products:
“Every year we distribute over 200,000 directories across Barbados and it is heartening to see people are still excited to welcome them into their homes. It is equally encouraging that in addition to the physical book; thousands of people are also embracing technology by downloading our mobile App which makes this year’s Directory cover theme “the future of local search” even more befitting.”
The distribution of Directories will continue over the next few weeks at various locations across the island, including supermarkets and shopping centres. Persons are also encouraged to take in their older Directories as a part of the Company’s recycling efforts. The list of drop off outlets for old Directories can be found on Barbados Yellow Pages Facebook page.
