The days of Agriculture seen by certain Barbadians as jobs for those deemed old or stupid is fast fading from view – many young people are now seeing it as niche markets for new career options.

Esworth Reid, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, also addressed participants at the Caribbean Pacific Agri-Forum – he told those gathered at Cave Hill for the extended seminar how many young Barbadians view Agriculture as a tertiary level profession;-

Mr Reid also expressed the view that farmers should not rely on Government alone to prevent praedial larceny, and instead look to shore up their own security measures.
