DIGICEL BARBADOS APPOINTS NEW COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR

Digicel (Barbados) Ltd. has appointed Mark Conway as its new Commercial Director.

An innovative senior commercial marketing and brand professional with over 15 years’ experience leading commercial brand development, multi-channel retail and marketing strategies, he joins Digicel after serving as Group Head of Brand Marketing and Public Relations with the Lycamobile Group in Britain.

Prior to that, Conway spent nine years at British American Tobacco, starting as a Brand Executive in 2004, then Brand Manager from 2006 and Commercial Marketing Manager from December 2009 to February 2013. He also served as Marketing Manager at Whitelite Automation, Ireland; Database Marketing Manager and then Radio Network Planner at Vodaphone Dublin; and Business Development Manager at SWiFTcall Communications Dublin.

At Digicel Barbados his responsibilities include developing and implementing commercial strategies and launching new and innovative products and services and he says his goal is to deliver commercial and consumer-centric campaigns that cut through and challenge the norm.

Conway adds, “This is a very exciting time for Digicel and our customers can look forward to some innovations during the coming months. Our mission as we continue to deliver on our promise to provide not only the best in service and network experience but also to offer Barbadians a level of value that is unsurpassed in the market.

Since taking up my post a few weeks ago, I have been getting a feel for the way we do business here at Digicel and in Barbados, as well as getting to know our team members. Most importantly, I have been learning about our customers and understanding their needs.”

The new Commercial Director holds a Chartered Post-graduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and a Diploma in Journalism, Honours, from the Irish Academy at the University College, Dublin, and is a member of the CIM, the Institute of Sales & Marketing Management, the American Marketing Association and the Marketing Society.
