HBO revealed the list of titles that will compose its 2015 documentary season in the Caribbean, ranging from the highly acclaimed Academy Award winning story about the network of government espionage, Citizenfour, to a look inside the story and influence of a popular magazine in The 50 Year Argument, directed by Martin Scorsese. Additionally, the famous case of the millionaire murderer is captured in The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst, the documentary series will accompany the premieres for the first six weeks. Every Monday starting October 5th, HBO will present incredible, heart-rending, and inspirational stories that will generate conversation and invite reflection. The documentary season will conclude on December 14th with the premiere of a new documentary produced by HBO Latin America originals, which will soon be announced.

The list of documentaries includes (in chronological order):

The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst (October 5th, six episodes): This six-part documentary examines the complicated life of the eccentric millionaire, Robert Durst, acquitted of various homicides and the disappearance of his wife. This critically acclaimed HBO miniseries is recognized for resolving what the justice system could not do in 30 years, and will premiere a new episode each Monday, from October 5th to November 9th.

His revelation about the illegal surveillance practices by the National Security Agency (NSA) of the United States, which included Internet traffic and email monitoring, as well as tapping the telephone conversations of all Americans, created a wave of scandal and uncertainty regarding the government’s intentions.

Finding Vivian Maier (October 19th): Nominated for an Oscar in 2015, this documentary tells the story of Vivian Maier, a nanny by profession, who took constant photographs in New York and Chicago during five decades.

Foodies: The Culinary Jetset (October 26th): This documentary pushes the barriers of the culinary world and gives a new meaning to the act of feeding one’s self.

The 50 Year Argument (November 2nd): Directed by Martin Scorsese and David Tedeschi, this original documentary tells the story and shows the influence of the American publication The New York Review of Books, which turned fifty years old in 2013. Through interviews, images, and first-hand archived material, the large impact of journalism on the United States culture and political life is depicted throughout this documentary.

One Last Hug: Three Days At Grief Camp (November 16th): This documentary follows three days of pain and healing at Camp Erin, a camp for children who have suffered the loss of a family member. Through various activities, support, and resources to help them overcome their suffering, these young people are given the opportunity to process and share their emotions and to finally say their goodbyes.

Back On Board: Greg Louganis (November 23rd): Greg Louganis, the four-time Olympic gold-medalist, is universally recognized as the best diver of all time, even though his biggest impact comes from being one of the first openly gay athletes in the United States.

Toe Tag Parole: To Live and Die on Yard A (November 30th): This film, directed by the Oscar winning duo, Alan and Susan Raymond, explores the reality of “the other” death penalty, while visiting Yard A of the California State Prison in the United States; the only place of its kind.

The Education of Dee Dee Ricks (December 7th): This film follows the inspirational life of Dee Dee Ricks, a breast cancer patient who, in addition to overcoming the illness, went on to become a strong advocate for the cause, and who brought to light proof of the disparities in the medical care available in the United States.
