Marriott’s St Kitts Resort illustrates “Spirit to Serve” by helping Dominica

Since opening their doors in early 2003, the St. Kitts Marriott Resort & the Royal Beach Casino has embraced Marriott’s Pledge: “We pledge that every Marriott community will be a better place to live and work because we are there“.

This St. Kitts hotel put out a call to action to all associates throughout the entire resort, for whatever they could give as a part of the relief efforts for neighboring island Dominica.

This St. Kitts hotel put out a call to action to all associates throughout the entire resort, for whatever they could give as a part of the relief efforts for neighboring island Dominica.

The request was short notice and only afforded associates 3 days to donate what they could – however once completed, the Human Resource department had to dedicate an entire more than anticipated space for the items brought in by associates.

“All of us here at the St Kitts Marriott Resort are very happy in coming together to be able to assist our sister island of Dominica during their difficult time”, said Jacques Hamou General Manager.

An entire bus was filled to the brim with bags, boxes even suit cases, filled with canned and dry goods, as well items of clothing. The items were delivered to the port and into a container on behalf of St Kitts Dominican Society for transportation to Dominica recently.

Marriott International has a proud tradition of supporting the cities, towns and neighborhoods around the globe that it calls home. “Spirit to Serve” is an intensely hands-on philosophy, and is based on a 75 year legacy of supporting the communities where it does business.
